Akil was born in the city of Damascus, Syria in 1988. He has been studying calligraphy since childhood and holds a certificate of penmanship. He trained extensively and had various distinguished teachers.
He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Aleppo in 2011.
His calligraphy paintings' inspiration is from the history of Arabic script and
from classic Arabic poetry.
He has exhibited at several countries in the Middle East. He currently resides
and works in Beirut. his most recent works merge classic calligraphy with
abstract expressionism under the influence of Sufi reflection.
Activities:
Solo exhibition in City Theatre, Nuha al-Radi Hall in Beirut, 2015.
Fifth prize award winner in global Burda award, 13thround, Dubai, 2016.
Participated in the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial , Sharjah, the United
Arab Emirates in 2014- 2016.
2008- 2009 - 2010 participated in the annual exhibition in Damascus.
Several participations in international assemblies and workshops
specialized in calligraphy art fields.
Participated in several exhibitions in Aleppo University and the Arab
Heritage Institute.
Participated in international contemporary Beirut art fair in "Artheum"
gallery, Beirut in 2014.
